Why Pilates
Strengthening
Pilates is one of the few techniques that teaches you to train your deep local muscles before training your global ones. An exercise working from inside – out. By strengthening your deep core muscles, you are less likely to suffer injuries especially with your back. It will also give you a better base for any other exercise you might want to pursue.
Posture
Pilates encourages a better posture which will help you with your daily routines – if it is sitting in front of a computer, driving, lifting (children) all of which can result in back, neck or shoulder pain. When following the Pilates exercises they will lighten the load on your spine and joints by correcting muscular imbalances and alleviate unnecessary muscle tension, which can bring on back-pain, tense shoulders and neck.
Balance
Pilates will help you to rebalance your body and bring it into correct alignment, with the result of reducing unnecessary stress on your joints. You can achieve a greater freedom in your movements and strength in your spine.
Relaxation
Pilates movements are gentle but very effective. Teaching you a deeper awareness of your body – concentrating on yourself – releasing tension, resulting in relaxation.
